My Speed Painting Events involve a 45 minute story telling of classic children’s books, such as ‘Where the Wild Things are’, Dr. Seuss stories, and many more. We talk about the moral of the story, the author and circumstances of the book while the children actively participate as the audience.They help ‘roar terrible roars’, ‘show terrible claws’ …

At the end of the story, I paint a 5’x 5’ canvas of the story we told to music in approximately 6 minutes. The canvas is mounted on a rotating easel and keeps turning while I paint it.

The emphasis of these events is to help children understand how important art and literature are in our society and history, get them interested by showing them that both can be a lot of fun and generally encourage them to read and paint what interests them, even if in an unusual way.

Performances include stories such as ‘The Cat in the Hat’,’Where the Wild Things are’, ‘The Lorax’, etc., but I am very open to turning any story that is requested into an event. Please contact me if you have any special requests.
